Resources for Black Mothers

Black mothers experience maternal death rates twice to four times higher than white women, and in addition face a higher risk of developing postpartum depression. In 2023, Black mothers were 49% more likely than mothers nationwide to receive late or no prenatal care. That same year, the mortality rate for African American infants was 95% higher than infants nationwide. These life-and-death disparities are rooted in centuries of racism. The resources listed below can give information and supportive care to help prevent these avoidable tragedies.
